一种无线可吞服的医疗设备，体积如同一个较大的维生素丸，有助于胃排空减缓的鉴别，或者叫做胃轻瘫综合征，多年来一直未能作出全面性诊断。胃轻瘫综合征能够影响许多患者，包括大约50％的糖尿病和帕金森病患者。

SmartPill胃肠道（GI）监测系统是由SmartPill公司（Buffalo,NY,USA）研发的，已经获得了美国食品药品管理局（FDA）的许可，给予该公司在美国销售使用该套系统和SmartPillpH.p胶囊的授权。IngestibleCapsuleEvaluatesPatientsforGastroparesisAwireless,ingestiblemedicaldevice,aboutthesizeofalargevitaminpill,willaidintheidentificationofslowgastricemptying,orgastroparesis,whichhasbeenunderdiagnosedinpatientsforyears.Gastroparesisisaconditionthataffectsawiderangeofpatients,includinguptoanestimated50%ofdiabeticsandthosesufferingfromParkinson’sdisease.

TheSmartPillgastrointestinal（GI）monitoringsystemdevelopedbySmartPillCorp.（Buffalo,NY,USA）hasbeenclearedbytheU.S.FoodandDrugAdministration（FDA）,grantingthecompanyauthorizationforthesaleanduseofthesystemandtheSmartPillpH.pcapsuleintheUnitedStates.
