Plaqueismadeupoffat,cholesterol,calcium,andothersubstancesfoundintheblood. Overtime,plaquehardensandnarrowsyourarteries. Theflowofoxygen-richbloodtoyourorgansandotherpartsofyourbodyisreduced. Thiscanleadtoseriousproblems,includingheartattack,stroke,orevendeath.
